In the shadows of the world's great ocean going liners a gathering took place in Southampton water on 6/7th June of somewhat smaller vessels. The U. K. 's Weta National Championships came to the south coast of England and was hosted by the Weston Sailing Club.June 18th, 2015
A dozen Wetas gathered at Weston Sailing Club in bright sunshine and a fresh breeze for their first ever regatta weekend which was therefore designated 'the Nationals'. The Weta is the world's largest insect and gatherings of the class are referred to as swarms.June 17th, 2015

After sailing a weta for a few hours. I have to say it quickly become one of my top 5 small sailboats of all time. Our Clearwater Sailing Center (Florida) received one on donation and fix her back up. Now it's always booked up every weekend.
